A summary of the whole Bible
This Bible synopsis will be in one page and I will try to give a brief summary of the whole Bible. In the Beginning in the book of Genesis we have the record of the Creation and the fall of man. God creates everything in 6 days and Adam and Eve too, in His own image (i.e. with spirit). They live in paradise and they sin by eating the fruit of "the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil." The consequence of their action is that they are cast out of the garden and sin and death enter the world. The Bible story continues with God’s Plan to restore Humanity. Humans multiply and fill the earth and are extremelly wicked and the world is destroyed by flood. All people die except Noah, his sons and their wives who are saved on the ark. Then the people try to build "the Tower of Babel" and God confuses them by giving different languages to different groups. The story of Job happends. The bible story summary continues with Abraham whom God choses and promises that he would be the father of many nations. He leaves his homeland and follows God’s direction together with his nephew, Lot who settles in a city named Sodom; God destroyes Sodom and Gomorrah because of the excess of sin there. Abraham has two sons: Ishmael (the father of Arabs) and Isaac (the promised son). Isaac has two twin sons: Esau (the first born, who sells his rights to his brother for a bowl of stew) and Jacob (who believes God and is renamed to Israel.) Jacob has twelve sons who became the 12 tribes of Israel. Joseph, his favorite son is sold into slavery in Egypt, by his jealous brothers and he becomes the next-in-command to Pharaoh in Egypt. He fortells of a famine to come and prepares for it. Then his brothers move to Egypt and their descendants stay there for 400 years, as slaves in Egypt. Then Moses is chosen by God to lead the people out of slavery and to the promised land (in the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy). He receives the ten commandments and teaches God’s law to the people. The people sin and they wander for 40years in the wilderness. Moses dies and Joshua takes over leadership of the Jews and leads the people into the land (in the book of Joshua). The land is divided among the 12 tribes who are led by judges, among them Samson, is the famous and Samuel is the last one (in the book of Judges.) Then we have the first king of Israel, Saul and then David. Solomon, one of David’s sons, is the third king of Israel (1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles and also Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon). During his reign the nation of Israel enjoyed its largest borders and a period of peace but after his death, the nation divides into two parts, each with their own king. The northern part is called Israel and the southern part (which included Jerusalem) is called Judah. After that we have the period of the Kings, many bad ones and a few good ones. During this period we have most of the “major” and “minor” prophets (1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles and Jonah.) Both nations are defeated and the people become slaves to Babylonians. During this time Daniel serves the king of Babylon and then Persia. A group of Jews return to Jerusalem (Ezekiel, Nehemiah) and they re-established the worship in the temple. The nation is never established again and it goes on from captivity to captivity until the Romans. Then John the Baptist (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) appears, who baptizes the people as a sign of repentance and announces that the Kingdom of God is at hand. He is imprisoned and eventually beheaded by Herod. The bible story continues with Jesus (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) who is born of a virgin and lives a perfect and sinless life. He is crucified, resurrected from the dead by God, ascented to heaven and the church starts after the day of Pentecost (Acts). We have the story of the rise and the expansion of the first Christian church, mostly via the ministry of two people: Peter and Paul. Paul originally known as Saul, is Pharisee who searches and kills Christians but is converted by Jesus while traveling to Damascus. He starts many churches and writes many of the epistles which are now part of the New Testament. The bible story summary ends with the Judgment and a New Beginning. Jesus returns to earth and defeats Satan and his demons, they are cast into the lake of fire. Those who do not got saved die the second death and those whose names are written in the Book of Life live and enjoy the new heaven and new earth forever. I hope you enjoyed the summary of the Bible as a Bible synopsis.
