The Bible talks about Christian divorce
In fact God's word on Christian divorce and Christian remarriage is quite different from what most people and especially Christians think. There are many books, many Web pages and many views dealing with Bible divorce. All assertions supposedly or not, are confirmed by His Holy Word. The reality is that many times the views are supported by misinterpretations of the Scriptures. The reader -you- is many times confused by the contradictory and varied views. If you are thinking about it, experienced it in your life or someone you love is going through it, do me a favour and first pray. Pray alone, pray with them, but do pray. Then read the bible and pray again. Our God is a personal God and He does talk to His children. My prayer, as you read through these pages is that the Lord will open the eyes of your understanding of His Word according to your specific situation. You heard all of it before: - some will not allow Christians to divorce in any degree or under any circumstances whatsoever,
- some will allow it but only in certain cases,
- some will allow it with abstinence - no remarriage,
- others cast off all restrictions,
- still others accept is as an ordinary norm of everyday life.
Depending on where you live and under which "Church umbrella" you are under, opinions and views will vary. The hard fact is that wherever you live each and every court day, hundreds of people, Christians or not, march before the bar of justice in the arena of separation, for the much abused, yet legal act of divorce. We all need advice on Christian divorce and Christian remarriage, we all need enlightenment on Bible divorce, and we all need the Word of God to find the answers with regard to this facet of human relationships. In the pages that follow we will read the Bible together to find out what the Word has to say about it. Who ordained it - who's idea was it in the first place -, who abused it, what Jesus said about it, what you can do after it and what you should do if there are children involved. We'll talk a bit about sex inside and outside of marriage, we'll see what the Apostle Paul said and we'll ask and answer some questions. The conclusions will be yours.
